Children and Sustainable development in rural areas
Human right also includes the Child rights. In the DRC, child right is still very far to be recognized although the DRC signed the International Convention on the Child Rights, 1985. In Rural areas of the (post) conflict zones, in Kivu, there are numerous of reports of UN agencies on the violation of the rights of the children in DRC. The DRCC foundation always includes this dimension in all her project activities from a gender perspective. Because as said Ban Kin Moon, the former UN General Secretary, we cannot achieve the goals on Women, Peace and Security, if we do not link the UNSC Resolution 1325 with the Sustainable Development Goals, there in the rights of the Children are conditional for sustainable development. With our local partners such as The MONONUSCO, ADDROSMIL asbl, ASSERMMA asbl and several schools and university, we organize child care, the Vocational Training for Internal Displaced and Refugee Children. Child soldiers have a special place in our activities and we work together with local grass roots for resocialization and disarmament of the children. We organize reintegration programmes and a space for youth in rural areas. Each contribution is welcome.
